The operator said, "This red switch?"
Heh heh... reminds me of a situation back when I was in school. I was a lab assistant, in the computer lab, working the evening shift. One night, close to final exams, one of the women brought in her little boy ... normally this child was quite well behaved ... he would usually bring a coloring book along, sit at one of the tables, and happily entertain himself for the time his mom was working on her assignments. This night however, for whatever reason, he was quite jumpy ... well, the computer lab had a big red push switch that was the emergency power for the 3 rooms of the lab. It controlled the PC's, CRT's, card punches (yes, we used card's back then), lights, and everything else. Well, to make a long story short ... that red switch was just BEGGING him to push it ... who was he to go against fate... so he pushed it. The silence was deafening. No hum of PC's, no clatter of the chain printer, no clack of the 029 & 129 card punch, not a word from the students. Suffice it to say, the switch got a cover put on it right quick. david
