Cynthia - there should be a job in subsystem qsyswrk that has the lock.
8=Work with object locks should give you an option to end the job.
Don't end the subsytem or ipl.
If can't find it there, check :
WRKUSRJOB USER(QUSER) STATUS(*ACTIVE)
