I used to feel the same about the proliferation of the servers in our 
computer room.  And it seemed that you could only run one application 
on each one!

If you consider that the AS/400 does the same thing-- only we call 
'em "Subsystems," and they all run cooperatively on the same box, the 
NT/2000 world is no different than the AS/400.

When they reboot a server, it's just like us ending and restarting a 
subsystem (to activate a new routing program, say).

Of course, the A/C bill keeps going up with all those separate boxes...  (:
