You might try RGZPFM instead of the double cpyf, now that you have the
records you want gone deleted.  I don't know for sure that it is faster,
but that IS exactly what RGZPFM is for - removing deleted records, and
optionally, physically sorting the file on disk by it's (or one of it's
logicals) access path.
