The RplNulVal parm, OR the ALWNUL keyword will definitely work.  Error
reporting on the great CPYFRMIMPF command sucks, however.

Do you care to post the complete DDS and 5 or 10 sample records so we can
try to see what's happening?

I use CPYFRMIMPF ALL the time and it can be frustrating.  Once you get the
hang of it however, it works great.
