Girish,

We had severe performance degradation using ODBC interfacing to a Window's
web server running ASP pages. We changed over to sockets and have no
noticeable impact on the system. We now have three external websites and one
internal website that all use sockets. We also have one VB app that has been
deployed that interfaces via sockets and one more that is in testing. The
first one is a stand alone, the VB app in testing will launch from a green
screen and carry with it parameters.

All the socket programs run in batch in the QUSRWRK subsystem.

I recommend the "Who Knew You Could Do that with RPG" book. I used it as the
basis of all our socket programming.
