I think Bob and I have had conversations about our Kyo6035 smart phones.

Currently Sprint and Verizon have smartphones.  I think Tmobile has one
also.

I have a Samsung i300 (waiting for the next generation i500 to be released)
running on the Sprint PCS network.  I have a few small status web pages that
are generated in net.data on my 400 and I can access them via the HTML web
browser in the phone.  I also have Mochasoft's Palm TN5250 client and can
connect to any of my systems via the internet or dial up to a RAS server to
connect to boxes that are not connected.  While you do not want to write a
program on the handheld, it works fine.  Sprint also has its Vision (high
speed, currently about 70-80K).  While the phone I currently have does not
support the HS network (it is 14.4, yuck), most of the new Sprint phones
will.  I also have a Vision data card for my laptop, and it really rocks.  I
can truly work without wires (within reason) and love it!!!

If you really wanted the Palm, instead of a Smart phone, I'd suggest you get
one with an expansion slot, so you can use a data card from any provider
rather than be tied to the Palm network.  I think the Palm network is run by
Cingular, but I could be wrong.

Don't get a palm.  Instead, get a smart phone.  This is a cell phone with a
Palm OS built in!

The Palm network is pretty limited.  Major citys only, and not far from
them.  And it is expensive.

With the smart phone approach, you only pay normal cell airtime.  And the 3G
networks are starting to roll out so things will be much faster.  And yes,
the phone side works pretty good also!

I have a Kyocera 6035 and love it.  But, it is old and outdated now.  I'm
waiting (hoping) that Sprint will carry the Kyocera 7135...that phone ROCKS.
