I have a client who does a lot of his reporting via ODBC connections (M$ bigot). When he creates a flat file and sends it to his SQL server, his queries run very quickly. The same query definition, however, run thru ODBC takes as much as 3 times as long. I'm waiting for him to send me an example of the query statements so that I can examine them for the obvious culprits, but can anybody think of anything else?
