You can create a user defined option in PDM as follows: For Physical Files: Change User-Defined Option Type changes, press Enter. Option . . . . . . . . . CB Value to change to Command . . . . . . . . . CHGPF FILE(&L/&N) SYSTEM(*LCL) ACCPTHSIZ(*MAX1TB) For Logical Files: Change User-Defined Option Type changes, press Enter. Option . . . . . . . . . CA Value to change to Command . . . . . . . . . CHGLF FILE(&L/&N) ACCPTHSIZ(*MAX1TB) Then subset your WRKOBJPDM to: Specify Objects to Work With Type choices, press Enter. Library . . . . . . . . . . etestdata *CURLIB, name Object: Name . . . . . . . . . . . *all *ALL, name, *generic* Type . . . . . . . . . . . *file *ALL, *type Attribute . . . . . . . . LF* *ALL, attribute, *generic*, *BLANK And then subset to: Specify Objects to Work With Type choices, press Enter. Library . . . . . . . . . . ETESTDATA *CURLIB, name Object: Name . . . . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, name, *generic* Type . . . . . . . . . . . *FILE *ALL, *type Attribute . . . . . . . . PF* *ALL, attribute, *generic*, *BLANK Then in each of the subsets, place CA in front of the first Logical file and then press F13 and Enter. CB in front of the first Physical file and then press F13 and Enter. This will run interactive so your session will be tied up until these are done. Also - no one can be using the files you are trying to chain and once the file has been changed, I believe the system will redo the files access path. You could add to the user defined option the word sbmjob and submit the chg command to batch to run so your session would not have to be tied up. I hope this helps you. We are running JD Edwards here and upgrading to V5R2 this weekend. One problem that JDE has is performance issues related to some new values. Seems that there can large performance hits if the logical files are not changed as shown: CHGLF FILE(F0003LA) ACCPTHSIZ(*MAX1TB) Well, there are at least 300 (out of 1000's) logicals that I should do this for immediately. Is there a different way to submit this command so to change/update more than one file at a time? FILE(F0003*) does not work. :( TIA Dale _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
