Mark,

The 270 has but one bus so the drive will be available with no magic dust. It won't be selected first if for example there was a tape in the QIC but keep that one MT and it'll find the 358x. So you can restore from it if needed. I sure do agree that a save 21 to that dude is a better idea!.
