A number of possibilities come to mind.

1. The program submitted sends a message to a message queue, or an entry to a data queue. I don't remember if the former can be monitored through CAE ActiveX, data queues certainly can be.
2. There is a job notification exit point (actually a data queue) which can be set to generate an entry for every job in a subsystem, in various states - put on a job queue, start running, end, etc. CAE ActiveX, again, could wait on this queue and take action, based on the job name you use.

When using the CAE command object in the form: cmd.Run
to submit a job, how can you tell the user the job is completed?
The ways I have thought of off the top are:
1)Keep monitoring the message queue for a completion message.
2)Set a flag in a file
Has anyone on the list had to tackle this? How did you do this?

I am open to any suggestions, will post a solution.
