With CPW to spare in the newest iSeries boxes, does access path maintenance
really cost so much to system performance?  I think most of what I once knew
about performance on the as400 has been made obsolete (or insignificant) by
fast CPU cycles and cheap memory.

        I'm sure there are operational features of the newer ISeries 400, which 
have improved to the point where
        the 'older' methodology no longer applies, or is handled a lot 
differently.
        Most of us though, don't take the operator's course....LOL
