Small rural hospitals are notorious for being low revenue, however we have
almost all PCs using CA and CAE for terminals on an Ethernet network. But,
we have insisted on keeping one old fashioned 5250 type terminal in each
clinical unit for when the network goes down, and in the last 6 months it
has gone down twice because of defective equipment. We will continue to
keep those terminals as long as IBM allows them, even though most of the
time they are only used for clocking in and out.

continue to support 5250 over the long haul. These customers are certainly
low revenue, and very likely not profitable as well. They MUST do some kind
of planning, because the green screen apps will become untenable.
Eventually they will be unable to extend the life of the old system, or the
cost to maintain it will become outrageous.

companies, please step forward....
