We encounter illegal/non-displayable characters in records at times. They cause I/O errors when writing to the screen, and it happens fairy often. I suspect both comm problems and users turning their PC off mid-session. How can this be trapped and/or monitored? And would it have to be handled at the application, sub-system, session, hardware, or system level?
