We make a product, CD-ROM Studio, that aids in creating CDs for installation on the 400. It includes a GUI client that has its own Sockets download facility, so you'd not need FTP, just TCP/IP running. Of course, FTP works, as well. And, if you have your mods in SAVFs, with an install program to restore them, we can package them so that they are installed with the standard LODRUN methodology - this part is fairly proprietary, although many here could probably figure out how it's done.

If you think this'd fit your customer's situation, contact me offlist (507.287.8119 x111) and/or check our website <www.centerfieldtechnology.com>

What they ultimately want to do is use FTP to transfer AS/400 data/programs
to a PC, burn a CD, and then load/execute that code on another AS/400. The
customer is a software consultancy and as they make mods to certain AS/400
applications, they want to be able to deliver those mods via CD... Make
sense? It's my recent understanding that there's an additional piece of
software they might need...
