It changed as of V5R1. It is controlled by the system value QMAXSPLF. I would recommend reading the V5R1 Memo to Users before changing. The basic information is in there for V5R1. There is also a system value QSPLFACN which specifies whether spool files are kept with a job or detached from a job on the iSeries.
