We did this exact scenario for a while.... Dev 4.2, production 5.1.  We had
no problems with it.

Are there any known problems with a V4R2 development
machine creating, saving, restoring to V5r1, v5r2?
(other than lack of ibm support-their choice, not mine)

using object connect to savrst.
This is RPG III, IV, CLP, some sql, and data queues between production
boxes.
