Guys, To back up your job schedule entries, save the QUSRSYS/QDFTJOBSCD *JOBSCD object Cheers Colin.W -----Original Message----- From: Eduard van den Braken [mailto:e.vd.braken@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 06 June 2003 14:50 To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Scratch from v4r3m0 to v5r1m0 Zak There is a UPDSYSINF to restore the values saved in RTVsysinf. Your jobscheduler entries will also be lost so print them with option full. Special tricks in QGPL and QUSRSYS will be lost. Since we will also be replacing the DASD, we've opted to do this by scratching to v5r1 and restoring what they need from tape. I realize scratching to a new release isn't the recommended path, so I want to make sure I've collected all the information I might need before bringing it down. We will definitely be doing an option 21 save. I'm also planning to RTVSYSINF, but can that data be applied to v5r1 when saved at v4r3? Also, I know I'm going to lose stuff like directory entries and distribution queues. Any way, besides not scratching, to avoid retyping those? Lastly, anyone have a checklist of what information to print/save before diving into this that might save me some aggravation? Thanks to all!
