Consider using a web tool that publishes to the site. I believe most of the web tools will publish content as directed. I use Net Objects Fusion and it has a dialog to set up the FTP info to the site, and it manages it from then on. It processes changes, deletions, and additions, plus keeps the file structures in order and endures that site navigation Additionally it has useful features like building the site navigation icon's info. for you automatically. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Wednesday, July 09, 2003 08:30:13 To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Moving PC files to HTTP server I've been working with my 400's HTTP server and am considering moving all my Web site files (currently on IIS) to it for security reasons. What is a good way to transfer my existing .html, .gif, .jpg etc. files to the 400? What library are the files placed in? Since libraries are apparently a linear "bus"-style directory structure how are hierarchical "folders" managed? Is there an administration app for all this? Last but not least. Is there a way to associate MIME types (i.e. .swf files to Flash player)? Whew! That's a lot. Any answers are appreciated! Alan
