IBM is simply trying to rape you. Call a used equipment vendor, and see if
you could buy the part, or even *ANY old 9404 and change the fitting
yourself.

We have an old 9404, which is no longer a production machine. It crashed a
few months ago when we had a power outage. I cannot perform a manual IPL on
the system because the machine is locked into the normal IPL position and
we
seem to have lost the key.

I have logged a support call with IBM, but because the machine is no longer
on maintenance they want a PO for nearly $3000 before they proceed. They
did
say that if I could supply them with the part number, they could order it
for me.

Does anybody know how I can find out the correct part number?

Phil.
