IBM is simply trying to rape you. Call a used equipment vendor, and see if you could buy the part, or even *ANY old 9404 and change the fitting yourself. Al Al Barsa, Jr. Barsa Consulting Group, LLC 400>390 914-251-1234 914-251-9406 fax http://www.barsaconsulting.com http://www.taatool.com "Mant, Phil" <pmant@xxxxxxxx> Sent by: To midrange-l-bounce "'MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx'" s@xxxxxxxxxxxx <MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc 08/08/2003 03:44 Subject PM 9404 Lost IPL Key Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxx nge.com> We have an old 9404, which is no longer a production machine. It crashed a few months ago when we had a power outage. I cannot perform a manual IPL on the system because the machine is locked into the normal IPL position and we seem to have lost the key. I have logged a support call with IBM, but because the machine is no longer on maintenance they want a PO for nearly $3000 before they proceed. They did say that if I could supply them with the part number, they could order it for me. Does anybody know how I can find out the correct part number? Phil. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
