Denis - I can safely admit that if I am able to answer ANY of the
technical questions posed on these fora then they are definitely of the
"newbie" quality as  I am probably in the lowest of the low
techi-rating!!

However if I could change the situation slightly.

I sell software - what it does is irrelevant to the discussion, (and
anyway I don't want to be harangued for blatant plugging!!).

If there was a question on this forum placed by a competitor about how
to do the same function that I know our software could do, I feel it
would not make commercial sense to answer it.

Whether or not the question is a simple one, why assist someone or a
company who is perceived to be a competitor - it's basic human nature to
protect your own.

Just my euro's worth !
