Depending on what I've done in other windows prior to restoring the WDSC window, it takes a while before WDSC allows me to perform some functions. During this time, the memory usage shown in the Windows Task Manager slowly creeps back up. Leaving the WDSC window maximized (although hidden behind other windows) may limit memory available for other applications, but hopefully will help the performance. I just need more memory! I guess I missed something. Are you seeing a slowdown after you restore the window? Most people have used the minimize technique as an easy way to free up memory for other applications. I'll see about adding more memory since I'm using the WebSphere Test Environment and usually have several 5250 sessions going as well! In the mean time, I'll try to remember to NOT minimize the WDSC window! If you need to use the WebSphere Test Environment to run web applications, more memory would help. The feature you have seen when minimizing the application is a Windows-specific feature and doesn't have anything specifically to do with WDSC or the JVM. Mark
