    What I finnaly did in frustration is download a free PC based product
"DAMN Hash Calculator" and run the same string through it to see what SHA1
hash it generated...and guess what?  It matched the SHA1 hash produced by
the CIPHER MI function!  I have to assume that the Microsoft security
provider has something proprietary in it.
