Gary,

Does this file have the collating sequence changed? Perhaps to be
case-insensitive or something? Or is the index descending?

The RPG program is reading KAISXMITL1 by key yet complaining the match field is
out of sequence. The two most likely causes I can see are a descending index on
the file (in which case use D instead of A for both match files), or the index
using a case-insensitive index or otherwise varying from what RPG expects.

You can always take the F option or run it in debug to see the last key value
processed in KAISXMITL1. Then display the file in key order and see what key
value comes after the key in the dump.
