My advice would be that if you have the Java developer kits installed then just leave them there: at least that way you have them and they have some hope of remaining current (another group PTF to deal with as well).

IBM seems to require them for more and more stuff so deleting them just means you will have to re-install them later IMHO.

We are getting ready to upgrade v4r5 to v5r2.
I want to clean things up on our current system prior
to the upgrade and possibly remove unneeded
programs. Here is a list of all of our installed
programs.  Any thoughts on which of these might
be candidates for removal?  I'm thinking that I
won't need the dictionaries once the OV/400
stuff is gone and wonder about needing
all the Java developer kits.
