I would also add that with V5R1 you can also specify the target IP address to trace. (STRSST). You trace a comm line resource name, and that line can have multiple protocols running on it (ie TCP/IP and SNA over Ethernet can run on the same ethernet comm resource). When you print the trace, you can specify what protocols you want printed. A comm trace is pretty close to putting a data scope on a line.
