The move to platform independent SQL-driven code drove them into bankruptcy. I'm not saying SQL killed them, or Unix, but the execution of the conversion (lots of outsourcing, lots of code cowboys, not a lot of attention to up-front design or performance testing) bankrupted the company. Gores Technology bought them out, they refocused on their core competency and began a pretty respectable rise out of the ashes. Recently they acquired PRMS, so they're doing a pretty good job of consolidating that market. Joe
