I believe that, when you FTP a data file, only the data is transferred. You 
are not actually transferring the object, in iSeries terms. So no 
authorities are carried across. If a new file is created by the process, 
it'd probably be done under the profile that signed on the remote box in 
the ftp session. A PUT will replace whatever is there, so I assume that 
that is based on the authority of the signed-on user, again.

I like the idea of using a SAVF - this keeps the iSeries object intact. 
Then restoring it follows the usual rules about doing that.
