Yes and yes. One web site said that you couldn't disable it in W98, but that .PDF I mentioned (in another post) said that winpopup.exe had to be running in W98. After starting that, the W98 machines seem to work OK.


The W2K and XP machines all have the Messenger service started so I'm still investigating there.

Interestingly, I can send the message to 'jeff' (my user id) or 'jlcrosby' (my PC name) and still receive it.
