Martin Rowe (dbg400.net ) has done an application the way you suggest, using
dataques.

I'd agree.  Popups can be annoying.  In a business environment the phone and
e-mail really are the better way, usually.

Create a Break-message handler that uses dataqueues to pass message text
back and forth. To start a chat, send a break message to the user that
wakes up the message client. Still, pop-ups like this can be really
annoying to a heads-down user...
