That sucker was in there. And I'd swear that it was in there prior to our
last IPL. The boss swears that he used iSeries navigator prior to the IPL
to look for an empty slot to order disk for.

This is the hardware interface. i.e. the way that iNav gets into service
tools. Unless this service table entry is there when TCP/IP Starts it
will not start this service. This is the only one I know of that works
this way. So to get it going you will need to restart TCP. Go ahead and
restart it, just tell the users gremlins got into your system!!
I reccomend this command exactly to add the entry:
ADDSRVTBLE SERVICE('as-sts') PORT(3000) PROTOCOL('tcp') TEXT('Service
Tools') ALIAS(âAS-STS')
