Got the following from an IBMer (oh crud, the graphics won't transmit -
will forward off list)
Rob,
First you have to start out at the Information Center main screen
(http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/index.htm). From here
you follow the following path:
Networking ->
TCP/IP ->
E-mail ->
Troubleshoot e-mail ->
Check Component Journals
Examples from an old I0 document:
Example1:
Example1 shows a MAPI enabled POP client using the extended send verb. The
internal message Id of the message is journaled. Note
the local deliveries are shown being delivered to the pop mailbox
directory. The remote delivery journals the IP address of the host that
the note is passed to and also journals the recipient(s). Note that
message forwarding creates an Mail Control Block and places it in the
QTMSOUTQ. The SMTP client then delivers it to the remote host.
Example 2:
Example 2 shows an OV note being sent to two remote recipients. The note
actually had another local POP client recipient. Since the
Bridge client will not be enabled for PTFs, the MCB doesn't have the
journaling controls set and nothing can be seen until Message Forwarding
creates the MCB w/journal controls. By that time, only the remote
recipients are passed to the Message Forwarding Snap-in (exit
program).SMTP Journaling Design

iseries smtp administration tool?
Hi,
is there any tool out there for controlling and administering the AS/400
SMTP server?
We have our AS/400 configured to send SMTP-mail to our central Lotus Notes
mail server. But it is a PITA to find out if a specific mail has
been sent out.
Thanks,
Oliver
