JHHL" I disconnected my UPS cable several years ago and have not had any problems whatsoever. It was more trouble than it is worth. Our UPS has an extended runtime on batteries of about 2 hours. The AS400 does fine without that cable. You should also have a "make before break" transfer switch. Put the UPS on bypass before playing around with it. Greg
