iSeries Access can bet set up to use secure telnet.  If you're just 
worried about data entered on screens passing in the clear that should be 
sufficient.

Safe connection with IBM client access






Here in the company, we use IBM client access, to connect has some systems
of management, but everything passes through in clean text, somebody
knows some product that could qualify some way of strong  cryptography?
