Didn't IBM used to sell a product called Adstar ADSM or something like that? I seem to remember that it had a Windows "agent" that could backup to an iSeries tape device. I never hear this product anymore so I do not know if it became part of BRMS or part of Tivoli or what. However, it seems like IBM would have some kind of solution in this area. I'll have to run some tests to benchmark the performance. Thanks, Mark Mark D. Another thought would be to "zip" up the files from that remote dir and the save that local file. Bryan ---------------------------------------------------- Subject: RE: QNTC OK. I finally got to the point that I can see the contents of the server to which I am trying to connect. Now, is it possible to save files in these shares to a SAVF using the SAV command. Here is the command I'm trying for now: _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
