Elvis, >How about prompt validation program? No. The error is occuring before the system can call either a VCP, a POP, or a CPP. It is occuring while trying to parse the command string into the keywords and values given. The system must do that before it can call anything else, including a prompt validation program. Unless perchance the newer command exit point programs are called prior to parsing the command. The error has nothing to prompting. Doug
