Let me be succinct. Our file/print servers are already set up and running. 1 PC. Same for the web. 1 PC. Creating an iSeries LPAR to replace, er, consolidate 2 PCs costs far more than the complete replacement costs of the 2 PCs. So we won't be moving to Linux to consolidate servers. We have a product which provisions telecomm switches (among other devices.) That product could theoretically run in a Linux environment, but with out the hardware ports, communicating to the telecomm gear is a trifle impossible. So we won't be moving to Linux to host an application. I didn't think there was a third possibility but I am most happy to be proved wrong. As a software development company, we (just) might be in a different world from the end-user community. --buck
