All very well & good I suppose, but does your product allow me to save a
group of color settings to be used again the next week?  Is there a color
mapping file similar to the keyboard mapping file?  Can I set a toolbar icon
to change all the colors to a new theme, say black, white, & grays?

May I point out that a real 3487-HC (and presumably also a 3488-V with a
color monitor) has limited color mapping, mouse support, and "simple
hotspots"?
 
Also, may I point out that TN5250 and TN5250e are STANDARDS (defined in
RFCs), not PRODUCTS?
 
Our emulator (and this time, I am making an unabashed plug) allows for
complete foreground color remapping of all attributes, as well as a
separate color for the cursor, and separate background colors for the main
background, input-capable fields, and simple hotspots. It also allows for
expanded types of simple hotspots, and the option of graphically
"embossing" the hotspots and "indenting" the input-capable fields. And the
status line, whether presented with a traditional or GUI look, is ALWAYS
iconic (based on, you guessed it, the type of iconic status lines that
have been standard on 5250 terminals at least since the 3180, but with
slightly more colorful and [at least in the case of the "connected" and
"message waiting" icons] more detailed icons).
 
Of course, so do a lot of other really good emulators.
 
Personally, I've never understood why the people at Wall Data insisted on
retaining "WSF-style" status line indicators for RUMBA, even in their
"GUI-look" status lines.
