Every night, after the backup we perform the following, and have it
automatically emailed to us:
     PRTERRLOG TYPE(*VOLSTAT) +
               VOLTYPE(3590) +
               VOLSTAT(*DLT)
A sample report looks like:
Title . . . . . . . . . . : Volume Statistics Report
System type . . . . . . . : 9406
System model . . . . . . : 840
System release . . . . . : V5R2M0
System name . . . . . . . : GDIHQ
...
Volume ---Temporary Errors--- --------K Bytes--------
ID Read Write Read Written
3FRI11 0 3 55 112503477
DTBL01 0 0 3 3
...
3FRI11 was updated during our normal saves.
DTBL01 was done during downtime using a program very similar to GO SAVE,
OPTION 21. I KNOW there is more data on it that 3k. All of the downtime
tapes have some 1k except for one with 2, and this one with 3.
Question: Do saves in restricted state not update these tables?
If I would have ran the PRTERRLOG in between this save and the PRTERRLOG I
see above, and told it VOLSTAT(*DLT), then DTBL01 would not be there at
all.
