I never did see the sense to dial up ppp for ECS. What possible advantage is there to using the same modem that you used to use for SNA ECS, but now we'll use it for PPP ECS? Frankly, all that did was make ECS slower. Instead of dialing and connecting, it now tries a myriad of configurations. Always picking the working one last.
