This was interesting. I just had my iSeries lock up completely.
Somehow the WASX job got itself confused, and wouldn't end. I did
ENDJOB *IMMED, but still no go. Since I needed an IPL, I figured I'd
try that. Mistake. All that did was terminate my interactive jobs, but
no IPL (I probably should have tried ENDJOBABN, but I've seen an IPL not
happen).

After Googling for a while, I saw a note that someone had managed to get
around a D900 2470 (I think that was my SRC) by doing a main storage
dump (option 22). I did this, and after a lot of cranking (and a very
scary screen that said "System Has Failed"), the system came back up and
I'm back on the road again.

Couple of questions:

1. Would y'all check for anything else?
2. Would you even bother reporting this to IBM?
3. Does the MSD take up DASD?
4. If yes to 3, can I see how much and/or get rid of it?

Joe
