If you are trying to discover other PC's out on the network, use a network
scanner or ping utility. There are many free utilities on the net.

Thanks Scott, I have checked the link but I don't think it can help.
The PC's in question are not signed on to the AS/400. They just exist on the
same local network. i.e. no client access, emulation or any other connection
other than TCP/IP.

Our program on the PC is always running and is listening for a call from our
AS/400 program. So we need the PC's address before we can start the comms
session.

Bryan Dietz wrote a show IP address utility.

We have an application using Scott's Socktut examples to exchange data
between an iSeries program and our own PC program.
Works a treat when we know the IP address of the specific PC that runs our
program.

In a network where the PC's have dynamically assigned IP addresses (from the
iSeries), is there any way to identify the IP address of a particular PC ?

Thanks
