RE: CPYFRMSTMF problem

I personally find the CPYTOIMPF and CPYFRMIMPF
commands more flexible than the CPYTOSTMF and
CPYFRMSTM. 

I have found that, when using Microsoft products, the
STMFCODPAG parameter of the CPYTOIMPF and CPYFRMIMPF
commands needs to be *STDASCII. 

Here's a command I have used to copy files to a fixed
stream file: 

CPYTOIMPF  FROMFILE(IFSDEVLIB/IFSTEST4)+              

           TOSTMF('/ifsdevlib/ifstest4.txt')+
           MBROPT(*REPLACE) STMFCODPAG(*STDASCII)+   
           RCDDLM(*CRLF) DTAFMT(*FIXED) STRDLM(*NONE) 

and this to get it back:

CPYFRMIMPF FROMSTMF('/ifsdevlib/ifstest5.txt') +      
             TOFILE(IFSDEVLIB/IFSTEST5) +             
             MBROPT(*REPLACE) RCDDLM(*CRLF) +         
             DTAFMT(*FIXED) STRDLM(*NONE) +           
             RMVBLANK(*NONE) +                        
             FLDDFNFILE(IFSDEVLIB/QDDSSRC IFSTEST5FD) 

The field definition file named in the FLDDFNFILE lets
you copy the stream file directly into a DB2 file that
has multiple (including numeric and uniquely keyed)
fields.
