Good idea or bad idea - in your opinion? Hans already responded to this. I thought I would add what I think is a better solution to SEU and SDA and their source status. Why not store all your source on an NFS exported tree and use an existing GPL'ed editor such as emacs or other open source editors such as vim? This approach allows you to customize the editor to your needs. > Unfortunately, of the few open source projects I've seen start up in the > iSeries community, few (if any) are still active. I don't think this is much different than all projects in general, including closed source projects. I imagine that the ratio of actively developed software to all software in existence is quite small, regardless of it's open nature. The freedoms of open source are not gaurantees of longevity or viability, but rather guarantees of freedom to the users to act. Fortunately, the iSeries-related open source software that I use is actively maintained. Thanks largely to Scott Klement. James Rich Zvpebfbsg vf abg gur nafjre. Zvpebfbsg vf gur dhrfgvba.
