Nope.  IBM decided to waste that portion of the display with a flashing 
bar graph that's totally meaningless.  Well, it does mean that it's busy.

Will something like
     PRTERRLOG TYPE(*VOLSTAT) +
               VOLTYPE(3590) +
               VOLSTAT(*DLT)
help?

3581 tape usage amount






We just bought a 3581 H23 tape drive unit. We also have 3570 tape drives 
which show, on the drive unit display, the percentage of the tape used. Is 
there such a feature with this new 3581 unit?
