Jim,

Maybe something along these lines will help:

OVRPRTF FILE(*PRTF) CTLCHAR(*NONE)
CPYF FROMFILE(MYLIB/DBFILE) TOFILE(*PRINT) FROMMBR(MYMBR)

This will create a spoolfile listing the contents of the DB file. This
technique works best when there is no packed data in the file.

HTH,
Tom D.

 | Subject: OverRide PrintFile to DB file
 |
 |
 | I have an externally described print file and want to send
 | a DB file
 | (basically a flat file, one field per record). When I try
 | and just do
 | an
 | OverRide of the Print file to DB file I get "Record format not in
 | member"
 | error. As there are several formats in the print file and
 | only one in
 | the
 | DB file. Is this something that is only possible for in program
 | described
 | print file? Seems like there should be a way to tell it to ignore
 | different formats and just write, but I can find it.
 |
 | Thanks in advance!
