One last update, for the archives.

When doing an unload/reload of our 820 on to a new machine we were unable
to get into Infoprint Designer. After we exhausted all ADDLICKEY avenues
I gave up for the day. This morning, among the numerous windows I had
opened, I noticed another browser session pointing to Infocenter. This
one was entitled "Optional tasks to complete after installation". A
section on this screen said:

Clear two files in the integrated file system if you distributed
Infoprint(R)(R) Designer for iSeries(TM):

At the command line, type
RMVLNK '/QIBM/ProdData/AFPDesigner/session/IPDes'
At the command line, type
RMVLNK '/QIBM/ProdData/AFPDesigner/session/IPIEd'

I figured if the good Lord is going to put solutions on my PC then I am
going to run with it. And it worked. (Ok, I was still a bit of a
Doubting Thomas and only renamed the files.) Upon entering the Designer
at least one was rebuilt immediately. And now the designer works again.

Keyword search:
Infoprint Designer, 5733-ID1, 5733ID1, License not valid (Error:
IIPD0003)! Program aborted!, system restore, restore to a different serial
number, WRKLICINF, ADDLICKEY, RMVLICKEY
