You should be able to use MochaSoft Tn5250 from the Blackberry to get to
the iSeries once you get thru the network.

Subject: Re: Connecting a blackberry to a i5
We just got a few Blackberries in that are wireless units using a
cell-phone carrier. The boss wants to be able to check his e-mail from
it. You can do e-mail and you can navigate to a web page. If can set
up the AS/400 with one of the browser-based interfaces (like HATS) to
the AS/400, you should be able to log on. I'd be willing to bet that
the Blackberry has SSL support built in, but you'd need to get a
certificate for the AS/400 to establish a secure connection. Verisign
sells them for about $900 a year.
