You've gotten Client Rollout to work off a DNS server? The only way I've
gotten it to "see" the machines for me to deploy to is WINS or by
loading the IPs into a text file and importing.

PS. I never said I _like_ WINS, just that I've found it's necessary in
some cases.

at a customers site with all W2K and WinXP boxes, it does all fine.

What is so BAD about WINS that one would very much like to avoid its use

in a network ?
It's simply the fact that WINS uses broadcasts throughout your whole 
network every so and so
seconds. This produces a "background noise" in your net and wastes
bandwith.
There are better ways around, one is DDNS.
