AFAIK, SYSC is a client subcommand - it runs a command on your own machine, 
not the server. I looked for it in the server subcommands on iSeries and 
did not find it (used QUOTE HELP to see all the stuff on the server).

I agree that it's probably a connection - or something in between that is 
checking for valid FTP and does not know about RCMD.
